The sources used when conducting research need to be of a certain standard, and there are methods of ensuring validity of the research you cite in your own work. Knowledge of the world of academic publications is especially necessary in tertiary studies, but is also very important in VCE and so a key focus of our tutors is to ensure this is understood before their students continue on a path of higher study.
As with general science, it is important that Physics students learn how to structure scientific reports – providing the reader with a clear indication of what you set out to find, how environmental factors were controlled, and a discussion of your results (whether they agree with hypotheses or not) are integral skills in report writing. Our tutors can help students learn report structure and how to make the language flow smoothly.
One of the more difficult elements of VCE Physics is knowing when and where to apply the correct formula or set of steps. Our tutors will teach your child to break down the language of problems and apply the necessary processes to solve them. This skill is as useful in humanities and mathematics as it is in the sciences and hence it is a primary focus of our tuition team.
As with any subject, SAC and exam preparation is necessary in order for students to feel both ready and confident. At first the concepts in VCE Physics can be difficult to grasp and apply to new situations, but over time our tutors will make sure your child has enough practice and a strong enough understanding of the core ideas to succeed.
